RAF Intelligence Reserves Information Day

If you fancy doing something different and making a difference for your country then joining the RAF Intelligence Reserves could be for you.

The RAF Intelligence Reserves headquarters located at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire, is looking to recruit new Intelligence Analysts onto their two National Intelligence Squadrons (Sqns), 7006 and 7010 Sqn.

7006 Sqn predominantly work from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire as well as RAF Wyton in Cambridgeshire whilst 7010 Sqn are mostly based between RAF Waddington, RAF Wyton and RAF Marham in Norfolk.

Both Sqns employ Intelligence Analysts to collect, collate and evaluate intelligence from multiple sources before disseminating this to commanders, aircrews and troops on the ground deployed on operations around the world.

Whether deployed or working from their home bases across the UK, Intelligence Analysts are well trained and highly skilled in several areas or specialisations including imagery analysis and operational intelligence.

As an Intelligence Analyst you could be employed in the Air Intelligence Centre (AIC) assisting with the production of current operational intelligence reports and briefings for senior commanders, or you could be assisting the Sqn Intelligence Officer on a frontline flying Sqn by providing tactical mission support to aircrew.

No experience is needed to become a reservist so if you want to make the most of your spare time, you could be the right person to provide intelligence support to the RAF.

Current reservists come from a variety of backgrounds including those who are full-time mums, police officers and research analysts.

Corporal Chris Medley, a Reserve Intelligence Analyst from 7006 Sqn, said: “Reservist duties have allowed me to actively participate in a variety of roles in both the UK and overseas.  It has also afforded me the opportunity to build experience over a relatively short period of time.

“Similarly, my mobilised duties have given me the chance to achieve some personal ambitions and demonstrate that reservists are able to work effectively alongside regular service personnel.”

RAF Waddington hosts a number of information days for those interested in finding out more about joining one of the intelligence units.
