The fun is just beginning for members of Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Army Cadet Force (LNR ACF) as they began their annual camp at the weekend.

After the trip to the Army Training Centre at Pirbright in Surrey they’ve picked up their kit and are all ready for the real training that starts today.

The Eastern Area Summer Camp is just beginning to with cadets having made their way down Portsmouth for the week on board HMS Bristol while more Sea Cadets will be enjoying a boating week at Thrapston.

The school holidays now in full swing and the Army Reserves C Kohima Company 4 Mercian took the opportunity to invite a group of youngsters involved in a community engagement project to their Bulwell HQ for activities.

160 (Lincoln) Squadron, 158 Regimental Royal Logistic Corps were back on the recruiting trail visiting both at Grimsby Rugby Club and a somewhat muddy Heckington Show over the weekend.

Other members of 158 were particularly enjoying the muddy conditions from all the weekend rain. They were making a splash or two at Grantham learning cross-county driving skills.

Staying on road (for the most part) was 350 Field Squadron reservist Lara Small who was back in action racing for the Army team in the Thundersport GP motor cycling series. She finished an excellent sixth and fourth in class in one race and eighth overall in another.
