Worksop Royal British Legion – Armed Forces Day Celebration

Worksop Branch Royal British Legion will be celebrating their 3rd Annual Armed Forces Day by organising an Armed Forces Day Celebration Event at the Shireoaks Sports and Social Club on the 29th June 2019.

They will be launching a special Facebook Event Page to announce the exciting attractions that will be available to enjoy on the day. A flag raising is to take place at 11:00 hours to open the event by the Chairman of the Council and Local MP.

They have the following confirmed for the day: Two Ex Royal Air Force Jet Cockpits – Courtesy of Wingless Wonders, WW1 Western Front Exhibit, WW2 Field Communications Exhibit.

Demonstrations: The Red Barrows Display Team – 303 Sqn Air Cadets, Worksop Sea Cadets, British Legion Riders Branch – Ride Past Requested, Royal Air Force Fly Past Requested and a Military Style Obstacle Course by Anytime Fitness (Worksop)

Live Music from: Lilly Taylor, Ward Miners Welfare Band, Harworth Corps of Drums and Automatic Fish Cake

Local Band Community Stands from: 303 Sqn Air Cadets, Worksop Army Cadets, Worksop Sea Cadets, Worksop Lions Club, Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Association, Royal British Legion, Worksop Branch Vintage Car Club, Harworth Archers Archery Club, East Midlands Riders Branch

Food: Authentic American BBQ from Worksop Branch, Royal Dessert Stand by Bespoke Hospitality Tea’s and Coffee’s by Royal British Legion Worksop Branch and an on site bar by Shireoaks Sports and Social Club, other vendors will be available.

They are in the process of securing bookings for Bouncy Castles, other food vendors and they have made an application to the Royal Air Force for a Flypast.
