Cadet 16, is set to take place on the site of Nottingham High School, and will see young people from the Air Training Corps (ATC), Army Cadet Force (ACF), Sea Cadet Corps (SCC) and Combined Cadet Force (CCF) take part in a variety of events including a climbing tower relay, a water-based leadership activity in the swimming pool, drill competition, target shooting and a First Aid exercise alongside representatives from East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Event organiser adult volunteer Dan Haywood, a Warrant Officer with the ATC’s South and East Midlands Wing, said: “This is the second year that I have organised this event in which the cadet teams compete against each other for a prize. Cadet 15 was a huge success, but this year we have more cadets taking part and different cadet organisations being represented. The activities have all been designed to test the cadets on the military skills and abilities they obtain throughout the year with their respective organisations.

“I see this yearly event as one that generates healthy competition between the various cadet forces. Last year the ATC won the event so their competitive spirit will be high on the day as they want to hold on to last year’s award!”

The event will take place on 11 September in Nottingham and will include 20 young people from each of the cadet forces.
