Corby Air Cadets receive big boost thanks to Open Day

The 422 (Corby) Squadron Open Day

The 422 (Corby) Squadron of the Air Cadets had a hugely successful Open Day on Saturday 10 September which led to 45 new cadets being welcomed on its parade night last Monday.

With this latest intake, the squadron now 120 cadets strong. The largest it has been in its history.

During the Open Day potential cadets were given a guided tour of the squadron followed by a helpful Q&A session hosted by current cadets.

The visitors were interested to find out what the Air Cadets has to offer, from flying and gliding to the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, fieldcraft training and much more.

Flight Lieutenant Kev Ritchie RAFVR(T), Commanding Officer of 422 (Corby) Squadron said, “What a fantastic Open Day. The cadet and staff team worked really hard showcasing what amazing opportunities the Air Cadets have to offer. I welcome the new cadets to the Squadron and look forward to their careers ahead.”
