Corby Cadet appointed as Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet

An Air cadet from  422 (Corby) Squadron Air Training Corps (ATC) has been officially appointed as the Lord-Lieutentant’s Cadet of Northamptonshire for the coming year.

Cadet Sergeant Emma Beardsworth, aged 16, was appointed into the position at an event held at Northampton Town Hall on Thursday 22 October 2015 after being nominated by her squadron and Wing for her commitment to the ATC.

Emma, who is now one of three Cadets to accompany the Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, Mr David Laing, to various civic and formal occasions, was joined at the event by family members, as well as Officer Commanding of South and East Midlands Wing, Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson OBE.

Officer Commanding 422 (Corby) Squadron, Flight Lieutenant Kev Ritchie RAFVR(T) said: “The Squadron and I are extremely proud of Cadet Sergeant Beadsworth.  She always gives one hundred percent in everything she does and performs her duties with the utmost professionalism.  I am confident she will continue this in her duties as a Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet and I look forward to what the next year will bring for her.”
