DERBY EMPLOYER PRESENTED WITH MOD AWARD

An employer from Derby has received a certificate for supporting Defence personnel, at a presentation event held in Derby yesterday (Monday 16 March).

Cathedral Quarter Company Limited received a Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver award for demonstrating their support to Reservist employees.

The award was presented to Melanie Ferguson-Allen, Director of Partnerships For Better Business Limited (PFBB) who are project managers for the Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District, by John Wilson, East Midlands Regional SaBRE (Supporting Britain’s Reservists and Employers) Campaign Director.

John said: “On behalf of Defence, I was pleased to present the Silver award certificate to Cathedral Quarter Company Limited who has been a great supporter of Defence personnel within their business.

“The MOD received over 500 nominations for Silver awards across the UK in 2014 and it is an honour to be able to present an award in Derby today.”

Melanie Ferguson-Allen said: “This award is received on behalf of all the businesses in the Cathedral Quarter, Derby, who, as a collective organisation were very proud to play a small part in supporting the valuable work of the Reservists.”

Reservists are men and women who give up their free time to train alongside our regular (full-time) military forces and may be called on to serve the country in times of need at home or aboard.
