A Derbyshire-based employer had the chance to attend a prestigious garden party at Buckingham Palace in acknowledgement of their support for the Armed Forces Community.

Whitehouse Construction, based in Ashbourne, sent two of their executives to the event where they were hosted in the Palace garden and had the chance to see members of the Royal Family in attendance.

HM The Queen and other members of the Royal Family circulated among the guests in the garden and the National Anthem was played by a military band.

Josephine Ewart-Sear, a Director at Whitehouse Construction, said: “We had a wonderful time at the Royal Garden Party.  It was a great honour to attend alongside dignitaries and members of the Armed Forces past and present.  It was amazing to see the Her Majesty the Queen, Prince Phillip, William, Kate, Beatrice and Eugene in the grounds of the Palace. We also managed to shake hands and speak briefly with William and Kate which was tremendous!”

The Vice Lord-Lieutenant for Derbyshire, Colonel John Wilson OBE DL, who is also the Ministry of Defence’s Regional Employer Engagement Director for the East Midlands, nominated Whitehouse Construction to attend the Garden Party in recognition of their support for Defence personnel, and in particular their employees who are reservists or veterans.
