EXAM SUCCESS FOR MELTON AIR CADETS

Melton Air Cadets have received a range of classification badges to reward them for their efforts.

The Cadets from 1279 (Melton Mowbray) Squadron Air Training Corps were rewarded at a parade night evening where badges were awarded for everything from First Class to Senior Cadet.

First Class Cadets cover a multitude of topics to introduce them to the Air Cadets from Drill, Airmanship, History of the Air Training Corps, and Map Reading.

For some of the more experienced Cadets, topics had been covered including Basic Navigation, Propulsion, Rocketry and Satellite Communications, meaning they are closer to achieving their BTEC in Aviation Studies.

Frances Tatlow, Civilian Instructor and Squadron Training Officer, remarked: “It’s great to be giving out the first classifications of the year, there will be many more throughout the year.”

Anyone who is interested in seeing the wide range of activities on offer can visit the squadron on our open evenings on the final Thursday night of the month from 7pm at the Cadet Centre, Asfordby Road. More information can be found at http://www.1279atc.org.uk
