Local aviation company is awarded

Lieutenant Colonel David Dawber presents a silver award to Clive Snook of AGOTS Ltd

A Lincoln-based aviation organisation has been awarded for supporting the Armed Forces Community.

AGOTS Ltd (Aviation Ground Operations Services Limited) were presented with a Silver Employer Recognition Award after demonstrating their support for Defence personnel and service leavers.

As a medium-sized private sector employer, AGOTS Ltd offers a wide range of training courses to its employees some of which are approved by the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) which helps to encourage both current and former service personnel to consider joining the business.

Clive Snook, Managing Director, at AGOTS Ltd, said: “We are actively supporting military resettlement training opportunities in aircraft ground handling operations and provide transition support and advice for service leavers towards the commercial aviation market.

“AGOTS signed the Corporate Covenant in July last year, so we are delighted to receive the Silver Award as we believe it recognises the important way in which the company has demonstrated a supportive attitude towards Defence personnel. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with the Armed Forces Community over the months and years ahead.”

John Wilson, East Midlands Regional Employer Engagement Director for the Ministry of Defence, said: “The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme recognises and rewards employers who show both commitment and support towards Armed Forces personnel. We are delighted to have been able to present a Silver Employer Recognition Award to AGOTS.”

The AGOTS are one of 11 East Midlands’ employers to have received an Employer Recognition Scheme silver award since November 2015.

The presentation took place at East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association’s office on Triumph Road in Nottingham on Monday 16 May 2016.
