Loughborough based reserves to perform lap of honour at Donington Park

Sgt Keith Blake and Pte Rebecca Lee will be among those representing 203 (Loughborough) Squadron at Donington Park

Members of 203 (Loughborough) Transport Squadron, 158 Regiment Royal Logistics Corps, will be parading vehicles on the historic Donington Park racing circuit this weekend (Saturday and Sunday 23-24 July) as part of the British Truck Championship.

One of the unit’s MAN Support Vehicles is to take part in a parade of honour on Sunday in front of thousands of motor-racing fans at the Leicestershire circuit.

Members of the squadron, including Private Rebecca Lee, will also be hosting a recruitment stand there throughout the weekend of truck racing.

On the Sunday, Sgt Keith Blake will follow in the wheels of the likes of Ayrton Senna and Valentino Rossi in driving on the hallowed track.

Sgt Blake said: “We are honoured to have been asked to take part in the lap of honour with some of our vehicles.

“We are looking forward to showcasing our highly efficient mobility support vehicle to give a glimpse of one of the aspects of the 203 Squadron.

“Our recruitment stand will be manned all weekend at the circuit, so we are looking forward to answering any questions spectators may have about our unit, the Army Reserves and direct those interested in the regular Army further.

“The British Truck Championship is a fantastic event that is attended by thousands of people so appearing on the track is an excellent way for us to promote 203 Squadron and the work we do.”

The British Truck Championships are on at Donington Park from July 23 and July 24.
