Headquarters Royal Air Force (RAF) Intelligence Reserves will be among the thousands in attendance at Lincoln’s Armed Forces Day celebration on Saturday, 24 June.

The RAF Waddington based squadrons will be hosting an information stand on the city’s High Street as part of the hugely popular celebrations.

Events in the city begin at 10am with the Parade of Standards and the raising of the Armed Forces Day flag and continue throughout the day until 4pm accompanied by band performances and a drill competition.

Regular and reserve members of all the services will be on hand providing information.

Headquarters RAF Intelligence Reserves’ Squadron Leader Jan Burton, said: “Last year our display included a metre long model of an E3D Sentry and our aim this year is to source and equivalent sized Typhoon model.

“Being located in the High Street for Armed Forces Day always provides a constant flow of visitors, both shoppers and those attended the celebrations, so the team expects to be busy.

“It is an opportunity to ask us questions about today’s Royal Air Force and for those interested in joining, either as a regular or reserve, it affords the perfect occasion for discovering more about the recruiting process.”
