RPS supports Regular and Reserve Personnel

RPS Newark has recognised the positive contribution that both military service leavers and Reservists can have within their organisation by presenting to a Service Leavers Engagement event in Nottingham.

Staff Sergeant Phil MabbittRPS is one of the world’s leading consultancy businesses. RPS Newark works within the Built and Natural Environment and deals with all aspects of consulting Engineering and Architecture. They currently employ a number of Reservists throughout the group and are actively looking to employ more. This has developed into a partnership with the Army to present at organised events to service leavers who are looking to a future within engineering.

The latest event was held at Chetwynd Barracks in September this year and it was designed to show the attendees the competitive range of services that RPS Group provides throughout the world. The RPS team was led by Technical Director Alan Skipper supported by Dale Hack and Phillip Mabbitt. The team discussed the vast array of opportunities available to service leavers with the right attributes and skills.

Staff Sergeant Phillip Mabbitt, is employed by RPS Newark as a Senior Engineering Coordinator, as well as serving as a Reservist with 203 (Loughborough) Transport Squadron. Phillip explained: “The RPS Team were able to discuss the skills that military personnel could develop prior to them leaving service, to enhance their employability within today’s consultancy environment.

“170 (Infrastructure Support) Group Royal Engineers were very accommodating allowing RPS to address some of their current Regular and Reserve personnel. Engineering skills are much sought after, so it was important to RPS as a company to show the military personnel how their skills could be transferred in to the civilian working environment when they are ready to do so.”

RPS Newark is offering Regular serving personnel the opportunity to expand their knowledge base by experiencing a placement with the organisation at RPS’s Newark office.
