Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO) Esmee Marsh has been selected to represent the Air Cadets’ Great Britain Under 19 tour to South Africa.

CWO Marsh, aged 18, has achieved unprecedented target rifle shooting results and her skills and interest in the sport have gone from strength to strength during her Air Cadets career.

The last 12 months have been very successful for CWO Marsh, representing the squadron in numerous competitions. Her greatest achievement was shooting target rifle at ISCRM 2014 where she came 10th overall and represented the “A” team in the Inter-Services Final.

CWO Marsh took part in a competitive selection process at the National Shooting Centre at Bisley to gain her place on the national rifle team. She is looking forward to her tour of South Africa. She explained: “I’m really proud to be part of the tour and so excited. It is a great opportunity to visit South Africa at the same time as competing in the shooting competition.”

Adult Flight Sergeant Helen Southall said: “I was very pleased when I heard that Esmee had been successful in gaining a place on the team. She is a very dedicated and valuable member of the squadron shooting team. This is a once in a lifetime experience and I am sure she will enjoy herself.”

CWO Marsh is the second Cadet from 126 Squadron in recent years to compete in the GB U19 Rifle Team annual tour and hopefully not the last.

We are wishing Esmee the best of luck in March!
