YOUTH UNITED DERBYSHIRE IS LAUNCHED

Youth United Derbyshire is proud to announce its launch.

Youth United is a national network of organisations working together to increase access to the opportunities offered to young people.  The Youth United network aims to increase the number of adult volunteers supporting member organisations; increase the number of young people engaged in their communities through cadet schemes and attract funding to make better use of resources.

In Derbyshire, the Scout Association; the Army Cadet Force, the Sea Cadets, the Boys’ Brigade, the Volunteer Police Cadets, the Fire Cadets and the RAF Air Cadets have joined forces to establish ‘Youth United Derbyshire’ which aims to follow the aims and objectives of the national Youth United initiative, with a local approach to increase accessibility to uniformed cadet schemes in Derbyshire.

A dedicated Youth United Derbyshire website will signpost people to:

Chair of Youth United Derbyshire, Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service, Group Manager Steve Helps, said: “Derbyshire has a wealth of fantastic cadet schemes available to young people.

“Youth United Derbyshire is a great initiative that aims to give young people greater access to the cadet schemes of our uniform services, which in turn will help them to develop personally and socially as young adults.”
