Army Reserve Centre opens it’s doors
An Army Reserve Centre in Leicestershire is opening it’s doors to local people who are interested in finding our more about becoming a Reservist.
222 Medical Squadron is organising an open day to take place on Saturday 23 November at the Army Reserve Centre on Brentwood Road in Leicester from 10.30am to 4pm.
There are a number of different activities planned to take place on the day including attendees being able to visit information stands and see Reservists actively taking part in training exercises.
The Army Reserve, formally known as the Territorial Army, is currently recruiting men and women aged from 18 to 43 years and potentially older if they have professional medical qualifications.
Brenna Partridge, Warrant Officer Class 2, at 222 Medical Squadron has been helping to organise the event. She said: “We will be set up in the main hall and outside the Army Reserve Centre. People attending will be able to watch Reservists training and potentially take part too. 222 Medical Squadron will have a Medical Treatment Facility set up and will be dealing with pretend casualties to allow people to get a visual understanding of some of the real-life work they do.
“The Open Day is not just aimed at potentially recruiting for the Reserves but for the Regular Army too. Some people may wish to come along to see what would be available to them as a regular soldier.”

Reservists attending the event will be from the following units: 222 Medical Squadron; 3 Royal Anglian; B Squadron The Royal Yeomanry; Catering Support Grantham and Mercian Regiment.
No booking is required for the open day so feel free to go along and find out more about Reserve units in your area.
