Launching the Poppy Appeal in Nottinghamshire
Representatives from the Royal Naval Reserve, the Royal Auxiliary Air Force and East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) attended a special event at Nottinghamshire County Hall today (Friday 25th October) to launch this year’s Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
The Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council, Councillor John Allin, invited guests, along with Colonel Tim Richmond MBE TD DL, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, to officially launch the local appeal.
Simon Worsley, Deputy Chief Executive of East Midlands RFCA, who attended the event, said: “I was delighted to be able to show my support for the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal by attending this launch event. Buying a poppy is an opportunity for everyone to show their support for those presently serving in the military, those who have served and their families.”
Young people from local cadet groups also attended the event.
