Could you be a RAF Intelligence Reservist?

If you have a civilian career or have just completed Regular Service in any of Her Majesty’s Forces and are looking for a fresh challenge, then the world of RAF Reserve Intelligence may be what you are looking for.

There are three Reservist Intelligence Squadrons – 7006, 7010 and 7630 and their Headquarters is located at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.

Approximately, every 6 weeks Headquarters Intelligence Reserves holds an Information Day at RAF Waddington enabling individuals to find out more about becoming a RAF Reservist especially in the Intelligence role.

Please find below a list of the forthcoming Information Day dates. Each of the events will take place at RAF Waddington.

7006 (VR) Squadron provide’s Intelligence analysis and briefings to aircrew before missions or to senior commanders; 7010 (VR) Squadron provide’s Image analysts, supporting the RAF’s reconnaissance units and 7630 Squadron provide reservists for intelligence gathering, primarily through interviewing and debriefing civilian or military personnel.

Future Reserves 2020 seeks to increase the size of the RAF Reserve Intelligence Component and they are looking to recruit upwards of 100 new members from all walks of life. The eligibility criteria and recruiting process mirrors that of those joining for regular service except for the age limit – RAF Reserves is 18 to 50 years (55 years for those with previous service).

Squadron Leader Jan Burton, from the Intelligence Reserves Head Quarters at RAF Waddington, said: “A team of dedicated Reserve Recruiting Staff and members from each Squadron will be at each of our Information Days to speak to all those attending.

“The challenges a RAF Reserve faces offers them opportunities for personnel development they simply won’t find anywhere else. We are keen to speak to anyone who would like to learn more about what we do and I would encourage anyone who wishes to attend one of the Information Days to register their interest as soon as possible.”
