Arena UK Armed Forces Day 2017
The Armed Forces Celebration will aim to raise awareness of the local Armed Forces members in the community by celebrating the impact they have on the community and beyond. It will give recognition to those currently serving, and past veterans.
The day will have something for everyone with 3 main elements: a military presentation with equipment; members of the Armed Forces in uniform and military stands; a family entertainment day; and an equestrian event.
There will be military stands with trucks and equipment for those to see, a military band and 1940’s tribute band, fun fair with rides for all ages, face painting, clowns, hog roast, food stands, trade stands with military memorabilia, military demonstrations and an equestrian event including riders from the military, police, fire and emergency services riding in uniform and hopefully a Spitfire and Lancaster Bomber fly past.
The day is free to enter. However, any money raised will go to our chosen charity SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association). There is parking for over 1000 cars, full disability access and catering, easy access off the A1 at the Downtown junction. Nearest train station is Grantham but buses run frequently.
The day starts at 10am and finishes at 6pm but most demonstrations will run between 1 – 4pm.
