Armed Forces Celebration Day – Spalding

The Armed Forces Celebration will aim to raise awareness of the local Armed Forces members in the community by celebrating the impact they have on the community and beyond. It will give recognition to those currently serving, and past veterans.

The event will include a presentation of Veterans Badges to veterans by a local dignitary. There will be a ‘meet and greet’ with local service personnel, many of whom will be interviewed by Tulip Radio about their time in the Armed Forces. These interviews will be made into a podcast and archived to preserve their stories for many generations to come. The interviews will be put on a CD and given to the interviewee and their family and also made available at our local library in Spalding.

Lunches will be available to attendees and provided free to members of the Armed Forces Family through sponsorship from local businesses. Several singers will be recreating some war-time classics for everyone to sing along to and dance.
