Oak Apple Day Parade in Northampton

The A Company Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Army Cadet Force Corps of Drums will be playing a big part in Northampton’s annual Oak Day celebrations.

The Corps will be a part of the parade to All Saints Church in the centre of the town where a wreath made of oak leaves will be laid on the head of the statue of Charles II to mark Oak Apple Day.

The former public holiday is celebrated to mark the return of the monarchy on this day in 1660 when Charles II was crowned following the English Interregnum overseen by Oliver Cromwell.
