Overnight Vigil Marking the Somme Centenary

Abington Park Museum will open to allow people to come together and pay tribute to those lost in the four month offensive of 1916. The vigil will remember those lost in the battle, which claimed over one million lives and affected the lives of millions more at home. There will be a small exhibition commemorating the involvement of the Northamptonshire Regiment and a programme of commemoration from 7pm – 9pm, including readings of first world war poetry.

The commemoration event is open to all, but places for the overnight vigil should be booked in advance.
