2071 (Stamford) Squadron Air Training Corps win Lord Lieutenant Cadet Award

26 October saw the launch of the Lincolnshire Poppy Appeal at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirby.

During this prestigious event cadets and staff from 2071 (Stamford) Squadron Air Training Corps (ATC) received the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire Cadet Award 2013!

In the Awards eight year history this is the first time a cadet unit has won the award twice and to win two years in a row is an exceptional achievement.

The award is given as a mark of esteem and appreciation in recognition of dedication and services. It is open to all cadet units across the county through their local branch of the Royal British Legion.

2071 (Stamford) Squadron ATC has a proud history of supporting Stamford Royal British Legion, Stamford Royal Air Forces Association and Stamford Town Council throughout the year but particularly at Appeals and Parades in the town.

Now that the Poppy Appeal has been launched officially you can show your support by keeping a lookout for cadets around and about the town over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be bag packing at Sainsburys next weekend and collecting in the town centre on Saturday 9th November ahead of the Remembrance Parade on Sunday 10th November.

The Trophy was presented by Mr Tony Worth the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire.
