Awarded for recycling

East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) have received an award for being environmentally friendly.

The Association has received an award for recycling cardboard, plastic, glass, paper, cans and plastic from both Army Reserve Centres and cadet bases across the East Midlands, as well as putting a range of energy saving functions in place.
The bronze award, accredited by National Recycling Stars, recognises the organisation as being actively engaged in improving recycling rates and waste management locally.
Group Captain Nick Sharpe, Chief Executive of East Midlands RFCA, said: “We are delighted to have received the bronze accreditation for the work our Estates team have done. The award is particularly special as it recognises we have improved our previous efforts. We will continue to work hard though to develop our recycling methods and be as ‘green’ as possible.”
In 2012 East Midlands RFCA received a green award. The awards are scored as follows: working towards, green, bronze, silver and gold.
