Briefing Leicestershire

Around 40 guests including Leicestershire-based Councillors and dignitaries attended a briefing session last night (30 October) to find out more about the Reserve forces and Cadet organisations.

The event, that took place at Leicestershire County Council, was organised by East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) to discuss recent changes to the Reserve forces, Cadet organisations’ in Leicestershire and Rutland (Sea Cadets, Army Cadets and Air Cadets), assistance available for organisations that employ Reservists and the role of East Midlands RFCA in the community.

Major Richard Cole TD, Chairman of the RFCA’s Leicestershire and Rutland County Committee, helped to organise the event. He said: “I was delighted to be able to host the briefing last night. There was a great level of interest in East Midlands RFCA, the Reserve forces and Cadet organisations. Engaging with local people, including Councillors, is very important to increase understanding and knowledge.”
