Derbyshire Army Cadet Force have been invited to attend this year’s Military Tattoo in Malta

They will be joined other cadets from Lincolnshire and Northern Ireland to form the National ACF Band, representing the United Kingdom.

The band will take part in a range of performances across the weekend and are all looking forward to flying to Malta ahead of the competition commencing.
Ahead of the event all of the musicians worked hard to raise money to pay for their trip by running raffles, tombolas and market stalls as well as selling CDs of their music and accepting donations at band engagements throughout the county.
Second Lieutenant Pete Ward, the Derbyshire ACF Director of Music and the senior adult instructor of the Derbyshire ACF contingent said: “There’s a real air of excitement about the tattoo during the musician’s rehearsals. It’s a real honour for the cadets to be asked to represent their country and I’m sure they’ll all perform to the best of their ability when overseas.”
