Derbyshire Councillor Supports New Mills Cadets

At a recent meeting of the New Mills Army Cadets Councillor Lance Dowson presented the group with a cheque for £500, from his High Peak Borough Councillors Initiative Fund, towards the cost of new outdoor activities equipment.

Presenting the cheque Councillor Dowson said: “I am very pleased to be able to support the New Mills Army Cadets in this way. It is a very worthwhile organisation run by a  small group of hardworking and dedicated volunteers whose young people represent our town in many different ways”.

This new equipment will allow more young people to take part in the Gold award part of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and will be available for use over many years.
