The event, that is set to take place on the 12th and 13th October 2013, will be attended by members of the Derbyshire and Lincolnshire ACF marching bands who will be two of the ACF counties making up the National ACF Band, representing the United Kingdom.
The band will take part in a range of performances across the weekend and are all looking forward to flying to Malta for rehearsals ahead of this International event commencing.
Ahead of the event taking place, all of the musicians have been working hard to raise extra money to help fund their expedition. To date the group have been involved in bag packing, car washing, marathons and band engagements among other things.
Sergeant Major Instructor Ken Bisney is one of the adult volunteers from Lincolnshire ACF accompanying the cadets aboard.  He said: “It‘s a real honour for the cadets to be asked to represent the UK again and I’m sure they will all perform to the best of their ability and thoroughly enjoy the experience of working with other international bands.”
Second Lieutenant Pete Ward is one of the adult volunteers from Derbyshire ACF going to Malta with the cadets. He said: “There’s a real air of excitement about the tattoo during the musician’s rehearsals.”
Both bands have previously performed together in Germany and Holland and this is the second time that they have been invited together to take part in this major international tattoo.
