Northamptonshire Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets appointed at County Hall
The Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, James Saunders Watson, appointed four new Cadets to work alongside him in the coming year, at a ceremony held at County Hall.
The Northamptonshire Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets for the year are: Staff Cadet Sergeant Major Simeon Raines, Lincolnshire, Rutland & Northants Army Cadets; Flight Sergeant William Thomas, 858 (Rushden) Squadron RAF Air Cadets: Sergeant Kenney Thomas, Wellingborough School Combined Cadet Force and Able Cadet Amelia Harrison, Kettering Sea Cadets.
The Cadets are drawn from the Sea Cadets, Army Cadets, Royal Air Force Air Cadets and from the Combined Cadet Force across each County.
When on duty, the appointed Cadets wear a distinctive badge on a red sash, to denote their role. They assist the Lord-Lieutenant as required, often on parade for Royal visits, or at other large civic and military events. They also act as ambassadors for their organisations and the young people of the region.
The Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets are selected by a board, from nominations by their Senior Officers received from across the County. The chosen Cadets have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to their Cadet community.
