Pall-Ex delivers major haul of Armed Forces Covenant signings
Pall-Ex (UK) has once again demonstrated its firm commitment to supporting the military by encouraging 70 of its subsidiaries to sign or resign the Armed Forces Covenant.
The leaders in palletised freight distribution organised the mass signing during Armed Forces Week to publicly declare to the nation that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, will not be disadvantaged by their service.
Pall-Ex (UK), based in Leicestershire, is a holder of the Gold Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme and offers 12 additional days of leave for Reserves and 7 for Cadet Force Adult Volunteers for training and attending camps.
The company has an established partnership with Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health, and has donated over £40,000 since their charity partnership began in 2019.
Within its fleet, the company also has a truck livered in a special Armed Forces Covenant design, which promotes the scheme and wider support for the Forces as it makes its way across the country.
For Pall-Ex (UK), its ultimate aim is to become the employer of choice for anyone leaving the military.
Armed Forces advocates
Kevin Buchanan, Group Chief Executive Officer of Pall-Ex (UK), said: “Our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community is stronger than ever and part of our responsibility as a ‘Gold’ employer is to inspire other businesses to sign the Covenant.
“We are proud to have built such a strong member network, which is made up of over 160 independent businesses who are always so willing to do their part to support others in the local community. We are delighted to have had 70 of our members across the UK sign up at our Annual Member Conference.”
Bruce Spencer, Regional Employer Engagement Director (East Midlands), added: “Pall-Ex are an excellent example of a Gold holder supporting Defence.
“They have continually advocated for all members of the Defence community across many years and indeed across the United Kingdom. They are an example and we are very fortunate to have them here in Leicestershire.”
