Toyota Manufacturing UK, holders of the Gold Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Award, welcomed 8 organisations to recognise them for achieving the Ministry of Defence’s Silver ERS Award.

The night was made even more memorable as the Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire’s Awards for Cadets, Reservists and Volunteers also took place at the same time with a host of VIPs, live music and displays from the Cadets creating a night to remember.

The East Midlands’ Silver Award winners included Future Awards and Qualifications, Kettering General Hospital, On Hand Training and Security, Pick Everard, PointWire, Simulaids, and Vision West Notts College. Click Therapies, while not based in the East Midlands, was also presented with its award on the night.

These Forces-friendly employers were recognised for outstanding support to the Reserves, Cadet Instructors, Military Spouses and Forces Families.

Kirstie Parker, Deputy Regional Employer Engagement Director at East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, said: “This year we have had some fantastic award winners from all industries – from small SMEs to large NHS Trusts.

“It’s been fantastic to work alongside them, I know how hard they’ve worked to instil the criteria.

“We are a proud nation with a lot of respect for our Armed Forces and there is no better way, as a business, to show that support than to engage with the Employer Recognition Scheme.”

Dave Rimmington, Principal Health and Safety Consultant at Pick Everard, added: “Not only have the Armed Forces community got a lot of character and energy to bring to employers, it’s also really important to give back to and support them.

“It is brilliant to be recognised with the Silver Award. We’ve been really driving this forward and the rewards are telling already in the people we’ve managed to attract to our company and the value they’ve added.”
