Two Nottingham Muslim-owned businesses pledge their support for the Armed Forces

Trent Education Centre and Westminster Centre for Research and Strategy Ltd put pen to paper to recognise formally the important role which the Armed Forces play in the UK and abroad whilst pledging to support their work.

Mohammad Touseef, Director of HR and Employee Relations for Trent Education Centre, said:

“We feel proud to sign the Armed Forces Covenant as we have always supported the Armed Forces and their families. We believe that those engaged in the defence and safety of our country must be respected and supported.

“We would like to thank all of them for their service to our country and would like to recruit veterans and reservists in our training centre. This will allow us to make use of their unique skill set in tapping the right opportunities.”

Saba Kiran, Director for Westminster Centre for Research and Strategy Ltd, said:

“It is a real honour to sign the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of Westminster Centre for Research and Strategy. We did this as part of our continuing commitment to the British Armed Forces and their families.

“We recognise the value of supporting those who have served and currently serve our country. We are proud to call ourselves a Forces-friendly organisation.

“Our organisation works very closely with veterans as part of our research and development function and signing this Covenant will bring more opportunities to our organisation. Recruiting reservists and veterans will add a new skill set in our existing portfolio and it will benefit our short term and long term goals.”

The event was held at the offices which the two businesses share and signed alongside Major Steve Goodwin from the Army’s 7^th Infantry Brigade and HQ East.

John Wilson, the Defence Regional Employer Engagement Director for the East Midlands, said:

“On behalf of the Ministry of Defence and East Midlands RFCA I can’t thank the two businesses enough for their support of the Armed Forces community and their commitment to demonstrating that support.

“It is a real honor to have both businesses on board as we continue to strive for a fairer community for members of the military and their families.”

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
