Carlton Army Reserve Centre
We are pleased to introduce our Alternative Venue of the Month, September 2024 -
Carlton Army Reserve Centre, located on the eastern outskirts of Nottingham city centre, close to the ring road, this 1930’s traditional Army Reserve Centre has undergone refurbishment, and now boasts a range of practical facilities, including disabled access to include a large sports hall, marked out for basketball, football and volleyball, but which can also be used for other activities. There is also a professional kitchen on site, a function room and audio visual equipment is available. The site has ample secure parking and ample classrooms making it ideal for staff training days, meetings etc where delegates are arriving from further afield.
Our recent AV Customer to Carlton Army Reserve Centre who were filming a music video for a local band quoted: "Marie and the Alternative Venues team were fantastic. They assisted at every phase of our location hunt and during the shooting of our music video. Without their professionalism and timelines we would never have secured the perfect location for our shoot. In the future I’ll definitely recommend them and approach direct when looking for specific locations that are unique and production friendly."

Alternative Venues is an initiative of East Midlands RFCA to make our Reserve and Cadet estate available to the public. We have some great classroom facilities, sports halls, storage facilities and some unique outdoor areas. Our sites can be used for film locations, and much more.
We have a range of interesting buildings stretching from Nottingham to Derby, Lincolnshire to Leicester, Rutland and Northamptonshire. Our buildings include interesting Victorian and Georgian mansions and also modern buildings – ideal for business, training and social activities.
Most of the venues are available seven days a week and all of the Army Reserve Centres have professional catering facilities and secure parking.
