Alternative Venues: making our Reserve and Cadet facilities available to you
Do you know our sites are available to hire?
Across the East Midlands, our sites are ideally positioned to accommodate meetings, sports events and functions.
Take Kingsway Army Reserve Centre in Derby, for example, this impressive building with its modern facilities is capable of hosting social events and training and conference. With its function rooms, large multi-purpose hall and classrooms complete with audio-visual equipment, this venue is ideal for corporate training days.
Sobraon Barracks, in Lincolnshire, is one of our most elegant venues and features an incredibly spacious hall, kitchens for outside catering and generous-sized classrooms. This venue suits those that require conferences, meetings and staff training.
Over the border in Northamptonshire is Yardley Chase Cadet Training Centre. With en-suite accommodation for 145 people and flexible meeting and presentation rooms, this venue can cater for large social functions and corporate events.
As an extra bonus, depending on requirements, table dressings and marquees can be made available to hirers, keeping overall costs down.
One of the most popular reasons for hiring our venues is currently for training. Private and public groups, including the emergency services, often hire our sites, which are ideal for offering training spaces because that is exactly what they were built for, to support Reserves and Cadets.Another one of the most popular requests for hire is for parking. In Leicester, the Army Reserve Centre on Tigers Road provides single-day bookings for overflow parking in support of nearby community events. We can also offer more long-term bookings, such as companies hiring to enable their staff to park on our sites during the day and collectively commute to jobs on location where cars can’t be left securely.
Our sites have large indoor and outdoor spaces, but you don’t have to hire out the full facility. Versatility is one of the strengths of our venues and we can more often than not accommodate requests, no matter how small or large they are.
Our sites are located across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland, with plenty of availability and flexibility to meet your request.

How do I book a venue?
There are discounts available for registered charities, Employer Recognition Scheme holders and those who are current or former military personnel or Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.
The cost of venue hire is competitive and non-profitable as the money received will be reinvested into our estates.
