203 (Loughborough) Transport Squadron, 158 Regiment, Royal Logistics Corps, have set up a temporary store in the Carillon Court Shopping Centre and are encouraging local people to come and see the variety of kit and equipment they have on display as well as speaking to experienced reservists about their part-time military careers.

The pop up store will be in the shopping centre from 9am to 4pm from 26 – 30 June so anyone interested in learning more about becoming a reservist is welcome to join them.

This is the first time an initiative such as this has been set up in Loughborough with the Army Reserve and if successful may be planned again in the future.

Captain Ben Wing from 203 Transport Squadron explained: “The Royal Logistic Corps is the largest Corps in the Army and we are a diverse set of people who have lots of different skills. If you are interested in vehicles we can help you to pass a range of driving qualifications although we also have lots of other part-time roles on offer such as working as an Army Driver, Chef, Medic or Administrator.

“The reservists in the pop up store can talk you through the types of training they have been involved in as well as the variety of other opportunities on offer to members of our unit like adventure training and gaining leadership experience.”

If you can’t make it to the store in the shopping centre, 203 Squadron is also hosting an Open Evening on Tuesday 3 July from 7.30pm for anyone interested in joining the unit to come along and find out more. To register your interest or learn more about the event contact WO1 Richie Bowles 01509 263742 / Richard.bowles314@mod.gov.uk.
