SOCOTEC UK SIGNS ARMED FORCES COVENANT FOR ARMED FORCES WEEK

The Covenant forms part of SOCOTEC’s commitment to work alongside the Armed Forces in recruiting ex-military personnel. SOCOTEC is already a forces-friendly organisation and has a long history of supporting the military to ensure that military buildings are safe for serving soldiers and their families. The company also works with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), to support the employment of veterans of all ages to establish a tailored employment pathway for those leaving the service. Signing of the Covenant marks the occasion of Armed Forces Week, which this year will be celebrated digitally.

John Sage, HR director, SOCOTEC UK said: ‘We are proud to have signed this Covenant as part of our continuing commitment to the Armed Forces and their families. Here at SOCOTEC, we recognise the value of supporting those who have served and currently serve our country and all those connected with the military. Ex-military personnel often have a wide range of transferable skills very relevant to our industry such as engineering, leadership, management. Indeed, a number of our employees are ex-servicemen and women and I am keen to see this number increase.”

Recognising those who have performed military duty unites the country and demonstrates the value of their contribution. This has no greater expression than in upholding this Covenant. It is particularly significant during Armed Forces Week,” commented Cat Suckling, Assistant Regional Employer Engagement Director, Ministry of Defence.
