Private Fred Brant, 23, from Kibworth will be raising awareness of the Army Reserves this week by going to work in his military uniform.

Fred works for East Goscote Electrics in Leicestershire as his civilian job, and has a very supportive Managing Director and General Manager. The business understands the benefits of investing time in his military career as a Reservist. They are celebrating Armed Forces Week 2022 by supporting Fred in wearing his uniform to work.

Fred joined 203 Squadron, 158 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps, in July 2020 during lockdown, and has already made good progress towards gaining his LGV driving licence and progressing to the driver trade. Once qualified, he will be able to drive and operate the MAN Support Vehicle and provide a wide range of skills needed within a logistics unit.

Fred commented: “The fact my employers are so supportive is great, as they see that a bit of flexibility in enabling me to do both roles pays dividends for them.

“The training I get as a Reserve gives me skills such as confidence building, specialist vehicle licences and access to leadership courses.  These can benefit my company, save them money and help with my personal development. ”
