Venue hire

Unique venues for hire across the East Midlands.

Are you looking for an impressive venue to hire for your next event?

Maybe you need somewhere to hold your company’s corporate away day? Or a home for your fitness class? Look no further than our Alternative Venues programme.

We have over 100 venues available to hire across the East Midlands, from large buildings filled with military history to smaller venues. All sites are part of the East Midlands ‘Volunteer Estate’ – buildings which house your local Reserve and Cadet units.

From work events to weekly fitness classes, our venues provide a unique alternative to traditional room hire, and at very competitive prices.

Even better, because we’re a not-for-profit organisation, all money we receive goes back into improving the Reserve and Cadet experience.

What we offer.

We currently have over 100 venues for hire across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire.

Prices vary depending on the size of the venue and your needs, but typically start at around £12 per hour.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere with obvious signs of its military links, such as Glen Parva Army Reserve Centre with its armoured gate guardian, or you just need a small training room in a central location, we’ve got something to meet your needs.

Most venues boast secure parking, audio-visual equipment, disabled access, bar facilities and kitchens. We can also help arrange catering if necessary.

Discounts are available for charities and Employer Recognition Scheme Award holders.

How do I book?

Please browse through our facilities listed in each location below.

Once you’ve found one you’d like to hire, you can email em-alternativevenues@rfca.mod.uk to discuss your needs.

If you can’t see anything that matches your specifications, it is still worth dropping us an email, as we have many other venues for hire across the East Midlands.

For any military personnel seeking overnight accommodation, please note that we are unfortunately not in a position to assist with such requests.

Case study: Kingsway Army Reserve Centre

“It was the perfect place for our summer celebration of Reservists. Staff from Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, and the University of Derby filled the conference room to hear from a panel of inspiring speakers. Lunch and networking in the break-out rooms was followed by a flag-raising ceremony.

“Free on-site parking was particularly helpful, as was the fact we were able to get the venue for a reduced rate as participants in the Employee Recognition Awards.”

Melanie Dyke, Derbyshire Community Health Services.

Within the East Midlands there are more than 100 venues that are available for hire.
