We provide key estates assurance and advisory services to Defence.

From Buxton to Northampton, Swadlincote to Skegness, we are the custodians of a vast estate that includes 365 buildings across 135 sites, all of which are crucial locations for our Reserve and Cadet Forces’ work and training.

Since the introduction of a fresh operating model in 2024, our staff now oversee the hard facilities management services delivered by VIVO. In short, we monitor, manage and report on their performance to Defence Infrastructure Organisation, the estates arm of the Ministry of Defence.

We also manage services which fall outside of VIVO’s remit, such as soft facilities management, and act as important estates advisers on behalf of the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force.

We are currently working on a number of transformative estates projects. The biggest include:

Cadet ‘Super Centre’ at Clare Street Army Reserve Centre

The new build will bring together seven Army Cadet and RAF Air Cadet Detachments under one roof, meaning that hundreds of Cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers will benefit from modernised training facilities throughout the week, every week.

Due to the building’s size and the number of Detachments it will accommodate, the multi-million-pound facility has been described as a ‘Super Centre’ – the first of its kind in the East Midlands.

Portakabin has been appointed to deliver the new facility at the rear of the Clare Street site, replacing three smaller buildings currently located there.

When it is completed in 2026, the U-shaped modular build will feature two drill halls, storage and office space and a covered outdoor training space.

Solar panels and other sustainability improvements will help to reduce the centre’s energy consumption.

Coalville RAF Air Cadets Centre

The previous building, a brick structure from the late 1940s, reached the end of its economic life and was demolished earlier this year to make way for a modern two-storey facility.

Thanks to funding from RAFAC, 1188 (Coalville) Squadron Air Cadets will benefit from a significant expansion, allowing for an increase in the number of Cadets who can parade on Forest Road.

The new building, which will help to enhance the RAFAC experience, is expected to be completed this autumn.
